Why does Tiger Woods 08 stop working on my laptop?

I intstalled Tiger Woods 08 on my 500GB external hard drive which is connected to my Gateway laptop. The laptop has an AMD Turion 64X2, Windows Vista, 2 gig memory, 2 ghz processor, an NVIDIA card. When I try to play the game, it stops working right after I click the icon. Why does this happen? And what’s my solution?
